Modern physics has been developed to such a stage that frontier theoretical physicists can no longer afford to ignore physical principles and/or to leave all pure mathematics to mathematicians. These are the lessons that the experiences of Bondi, Einstein, Hawking, Pauli, Penrose, and ‘t Hooft have illustrated.
