In this paper three problems are discussed: the problem of initial creation, the origin of structure in the universe, and the origin of irreversibility. Although they appear to have originated at different levels, they seem to be interrelated. The problem of initial creation is approached necessarily according to the criterion creatio ex nihilo. The “void,” therefore, is recharacterized as the “absolute void”(AV). It is shoum that the origin of structure and origin of irreversibility are immediate consequences of the initial creation. It is suggested that all time asymmetries and irreversibilities may be unified under a global arrow.
Keywords: cosmology, pre‐big‐bang state, “absolute void”, initial creation, origin of structure, irreversibility, arrow of time, big‐bang singularity
