Discrete Carrier States and Transmission Resonances in GaInAs/AlInAs Superlattice and Multiple Quantum Well Systems

An investigation of the variation of the band structure with well width was carried out for electrons, heavy holes, and light holes in GaInAs/AlInAs superlattice and multiple quantum well systems using an effective mass eigenfunction model. Discrete carrier states within the well and discrete transmission resonances above the well were observed.
