In a paper recently published in Physics Essays, Md. Shah Alam and Sabar Bauk reported deriving the Lorentz transformation on using quaternions, and called it Quaternion Lorentz Transformation (QLT). The main result in the paper is incorrect. Some events related to a similar paper of Md. Shah Alam about so-called “Mixed Number Lorentz Transformation” are listed and reviewed.
