Several works remarking on the limitations of the decoherence mechanism for solving the measurement problem have been presented in the literature. In this paper we present a novel argument that shows that decoherence theory in its present form cannot describe the time dependence of detections in some problems without invoking some physics beyond the framework of Schrödinger's equation.
