The model of discontinuous quantum motion based on the quantum hop-quantum stop hypothesis is studied with respect to interaction. First, it is derived that photon absorption or emission leads to a change in the particle’s kinetic energy and an explanation of the zero point energy phenomenon. Second, it is shown that the Hamiltonian of the system leads to a force term in nonaccelerated motion that can be interpreted as a “self-force.” Finally, a spherical wave equation is derived using this self-force, suggesting a Machian absorber theory.
