A connection between the Darwin term and a nonspherical charge distribution

A derivation of the Darwin term is given based on assuming a nonspherical charge distribution. The total translational energy of the system is obtained for a static electric field, and the corresponding quantum equation is found to contain the Darwin term under certain conditions.
Une dérivation du terme de Darwin est donnée en supposant une distribution de charge non sphérique. L’énergie de translation totale du système est obtenue pour un champ électrique statique et l’équation quantique correspondante contient le terme de Darwin dans certaines conditions.
