This article offers a fundamentally new perspective on the World and its functioning, suggesting much greater coherence than was previously assumed. Our present research does not stop at four-dimensional realism but far transcends the consequences of 4D with which we started our research on this subject in 1966. We continue our earlier research [C. W. Rietdijk, Phys. Essays 28, 269 (2015)] into the possibility of the creation of matter by primordial Intelligence and the implications of 4D for the human condition. This article includes an explanation of the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) paradox and continues on Einstein’s thoughts about the consequences of his relativity theory for a possible life after death. We also investigate the question of whether the “eternally” continuing past that is implied by 4D means that human suffering too, is eternal. We further investigate the implications of 4D for the meaning of life. The author’s history of physical research includes an investigation into EPR and nonlocality in general as well as the quantization of action and the wave–particle dualism. The present theory gives no new predictions of the outcome of experiments, but provides such an explanation of the (micro)World that it brings us closer to making an understandable model of such world. This is precisely what mainstream Quantum Mechanics fails to give and which has always been my aim to realize.

Nous poursuivons notre étude antérieure [“On the explanatory power of the realistically four-dimensional block universe, and the coherence of the World”, Phys. Essays 28, 269 (2015); “Four-dimensional reality makes the world more coherent – Toward an understandable model of hidden variables”, Phys.
